I think coming out is a matter of proving something to yourself. I mean we all want to live "steady" lives. So what, if you're a lesbian or if you're gay? As long as you know this is where you will be happy and productive then so be it.
How would a general react if his daughter/son would tell him that he/she is a lesbian/bi/gay? What if only son pa or what if only daughter pa?

I think the Philippines society is getting more and more gay, and now is as gay as the society can get. this is evidenced by the seemingly countless out gays everywhere you look (and a joke from a friend comes to mind, "Hindi nman sila nabubuntis pero patuloy silang dumadami")

Im answering in a lesbian point of view..
it's hard because of what people perceive what lesbians are in our country..they think of lesbians or tomboys (not putting anyone down) as the security guard in school or someone like bubbles.In our country, it's still media that dictates what our views are on things. I dont think anyone wants to be associated as a "jack" in jack and jill once they come out. personally i think people fear strong women..hehehe because women rule..

women have difficulty to come out kase until now kahit may babae na tayong pangulo women are still seen as 2nd rate or someone who cant survive without a husband so parents definitely wont accept that their daughters be gay.
