Aug 31 on Rock Ed Radio>> Still About Peace

Let's talk to Robert Francis Garcia, author of "To Suffer Thy Comrades."Former NPA guerilla, Bobby Garcia published this gripping narrative of his journey as a young man in the CPP-NPA movement.

Today he is an educator, a writer, and a long-haired yogurt maker. (No, he is not the gay director of Cinderella, the musical. Iba yon.)

We really can't describe the book nor the author here, we're afraid we won't do it (nor him) justice. But we certainly hope that the proper authorities will give him, literally, that.(just google)

Question: What is your rebellion about?Post, share and tune in on Sunday @8pm. NU107.5 FM.

we may always choose to rebel against what is happening nowadays. It is always better to fight what we thing is wrong and fight for what is right. If we are talking about rebellion, e.g. with what is happening now in Mindanao where the MILF allegedly (I don't want to be proven wrong that the MILF had been framed all along) gone trigger happy on the civilians, that is utterly wrong, however we may say it. For me, I would love to see our country giving peace a chance, giving everyone equal participation in everything esp. in governance (we are a democracy, right?), and equal rights esp. in expression without being threatened (again i'd like to stress that we are a democratic country but we are now a dangerous country for journalists).

QUESTION FOR MR GARCIA: Would you advice college students of today to still actively explore the underground movement? What age do you think we should start considering joining, if ever, the movement?

Is 21 too young, too old? Is 19 too young? Is 30 too old? When is a good age to consider going underground to make it a valid decision and not as a malleable mind being poisoned by the older (demagogues) ones?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

How much are they considered as "failures" by the movement?

Salamat po!!! :)

OH NO!!!! bakit naputol????

Anonymous said...

May girl din kayong kasama?

Anonymous said...

What kind of torture tactics did they do to you, sir?

Anonymous said...

Sorry, pero kelan po ito nangyari?

Anonymous said...

If you have any idea, sir?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Question for Mr. Garcia: may nalatagan po ba kayo bng "program" sa "digmaang rosas" sa U.G.?

Anonymous said...

Ano po yung balak gawing system of government ng NPA in case ma-take over nila yung governance?

Anonymous said...

Maraming klase po ba ng NPA? It's like a suicide din po ba?

Anonymous said...

Sir, do you now consider yourself a disappointed idealist?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Good evening - please ask your guest why he joined CPP-NPA and why he left.

Anonymous said...

How many of you survived the torture?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Ano pong ginagawa nyo sa bundok? Ba't sa bundok?

Anonymous said...

Kailangan ba sa bundok yung hide-out nyo? lahat ba ng bundok may NPA?

Anonymous said...

When I think about it, it geels like joining a fraternit/sorority. Hmm..so meaning po, the beatings and the humiliations are some sort of initiation for one to be accepted? Ganun po ba?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Bakit naman kayo dinetain?

Anonymous said...

After all the pain they inflicted on you, sir, do you still believe sa kung anong ipinaglalaban ng kilusan?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...
