Jan 2, 2009 -ROCK ED RADIO LIVE @Route 196!!

Rock Ed Radio presents a venue for many to be heard. There are always two or more sides to a story and most often we will not hear them all. This gig is not designed to resolve anything because, unfortunately, we accept that resolving this mess is not our call.

This is neither a venue to diss, berate, scare, intimidate, cheer or boo anyone for the sake of noise.

This gig is designed for everyone to talk to each other and hear opinions out. It is also a Sociological discussion on our behaviour as people with or without power, with or without fear, with or without arms, with or without a golf membership. But let's talk anyway.

We will not exactly talk about the de la Pazes or Pangandamans, we will talk about US.

All in. Everyone invited, everyone welcome.

Rock Ed Radio will moderate the discussion, setting the ground rules for decency, politeness, and peeing before debating. Let's calmly, urgently, rabidly, intelligently, passionately discuss this situation of love and hate, war and peace. Whether you think this is an isolated case or a symptom of a bigger societal ill, come anyway and state your peaceful piece on the microphone this Friday.

We are open to re-posting of this announcement.

Kindly email in advance if you want to make sure you have some time to be heard.

Come on Friday, limited seating, infinite standing.
A karaoke machine will be on standby in case we're done early. Singing of "My Way" is not allowed. RADIOACTIVE SAGO PROJECT will perform after the forum.

Violence, peace, power, apathy, golf etiquette, retaliation, cursing, bodyguards, crying, indignation, class-acts, decisions, blogging, reactions, sanctions, suggestions, the Philippine courts, Mindanao, golf club security measures and everything else.

Let's talk about ourselves, shall we?

Speech: Free
Admission: Free
Panelists: Adel Tamano, Danton Remoto, Bobby Garcia etc.
Discussion Moderators: Gang Badoy and Lourd de Veyra
Music by: Radioactive Sago Project of Terno Recordings.

Dec 28 on Rock Ed Radio >> "Strike a Pause" The YEAR ENDER EPISODE WITH NO GUESTS

The last episode of the year usually has no live-studio guests.

Proof positive that Filipinos like staying in with family or friends as the year draws to a close. So, to keep tradition, Gang and Lourd will just play punk music and recall the year that was.

BUT -----

You may keep them company by asking them any question you can think of. (baleh sila yung guests) Or texting them to greet ANYONE or ANYTHING you want to announce on air. (baleh kayo yung guests) Or they can ask you anything also and you may reply via text. (baleh, LAHAT tayo guests!)

NUMSG (space) (message) to 29107.
Or 0920-2147922 -- please note that this line is only activated during the radio show hour.

We also have a prize ready for anyone who will break up with someone on air. (hehe) Naisip namin, sobrang daming nag 'po-propose' in public and on-air etc, try naman natin break up! (maski na fake break up) Katuwaan lang.

Obviously, New Year's party lang 'to. Imbitado ka at di mo na kailangang mag-drayb. Tune in on Sunday Dec 28 - 8pm on NU107.

Dec 21 on Rock Ed Radio >> The Nightmare Before Christmas

Film director Rahyan Carlos and horror fiction writer Yvette Tan will talk to Rock Ed Radio on the Sunday before Christmas.

Mostly about the work that they do and what Filipino nightmares are made of.

Post pre-show questions here.

Pasko na talaga, katakot.

PS: We regret to inform ourselves (haha) that Igan d' Bayan is not available tonight because he is a responsible writer for the Philippine Star --hehehe. Next time, Igan!

Dec 14 on Rock Ed Radio >> What is the CARP Extension Law?

We were scheduled to talk about the QLE Music Awards this Sunday but we decided to make way for another topic instead. We rescheduled the QLE guesting for another time: Two lawyers and a farmer will guest on Rock Ed Radio to talk about the Comprehensive Agrarian Law and the fight for (or against) the extension of it.

According to "Time is running out on Congress to extend funding for the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), and part of it is due to the strong lobby against it by landowners, an opposition lawmaker said."

The age-old locking of horns between land owners and tillers. Let's talk about this again and again and again and again 'til we find the golden mean somewhere.

Learn more about the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and learn why this has everything to do with you.

'Kala mo ata hindi ka kasali dito 'no...? Pwes...

Post questions and comments here. Join the discussion this Sunday at 8pm on NU107.
