June 15 on Rock Ed Radio>> "Violently in Order."

High bloody time we talk about mixed martial arts and its place in the scene.

Let's hear it from Universal Reality Combat Championship's steers Alvin Aguilar, Bubbles Aguilar, Charles Diao and a couple of other fighters who are up to the challenge of talking about what they do best on-air. Chris Belardo, Pony's "Rock and Rumble" event chief-idea-guy will join us, too.

We got a lot of mixed reactions when we first decided to feature this topic, comments ranging from "too violent," "encourages rash reactions from my sons" ---all the way to --- "cool!" "astig yan" etc ......so let's get to the bottom of this phenomenon called Mixed Martial Arts.

May alam ba kayo tungkol sa Mixed Martial Arts? Ano ang tingin ninyo sa mga kasapi sa mundong ito? (teachers and parents are encouraged to participate in this discussion as well)

Post comments and questions here.

fascinating ang URCC!! I like watching it because I feel the warrior in every Pinoy. I think more than the violence, it encourages valor and standing up for something.... I think lang ha --but cgurado ako nanay ko iba ang tingin dito -mwahaha!

oh no, my boyfriend is into URCC, he takes me to watch it ALL THE TIME!!!! at first I was grossed out but eventually i got the beat of it, it's actually very very entertaining and graceful to watch men fight to stay nakatayo.... i wouldn't pay for a ticket on my own though... if ya know what i mean... pero i suppose it promotes discipline of body and mind --a lot better than the grunge era mode of just hanging in your garage over the summer .... so URCC is cool with me.

go RockEdRadio!!! i love listening to thjis show --i always learn something new -- wink* wink*

Hi guys! I'm Bubbles, one of the promoters of URCC. I'm so glad to know that people are finally beginning to appreciate Mixed Martial Arts! MMA is definitely the next generation combat sport and in the past 10 years, it has become recognized all over the world including here in the Philippines. We at the URCC believe that MMA can produce the next Pacquiao!

Anyway, we'd like to invite you to the URCC XII Supremacy on July 5, 2008 at the A.Venue Events Hall! tickets are available at Ticketworld. I'm happy to announce that we've introduced a 3rd price at just 395.50 (includes ticketworld charges) so it's more affordable to many. Call 891999 for Tickets!

Also, catch the live performance of URBANDUB at the event!

Log on to www.urccmma.com for the fight card!

Bakbakan Na!

mas mabuting magmixed martial arts kesa naman gumawa ng masamang bagay, e.g. magdroga. :)

do the URCC people advocate violence? or are you also peace loving people?

ok lang sa akin ang URCC at all sorts of Mixed Martial Arts. There's nothing wrong with it. It's way better than that so-called "pro" wrestling.

do you state an age requirement to wath URCC? baka dapat for 18+ lang talaga. kasi pag mas bata, ang nakikita yung violence hindi yung ibang sinasabi ninyong magandang aspeto ng mixed martial arts etc. may restrictions ba?

Anonymous said...

I think URCC and Fearless just promote more alpha male attitudes especially that they are fighting with each other even outside the ring.
